Latte Art- a method of preparing coffee created by pouring microfoam into a shot of espresso and resulting in a pattern or design on the surface of the latte. You can also “draw” into the top layer of foam.

Forewarning, this post is not about how chic the latte leaf I made this morning was. The purpose for this post is to alleviate any stress that you might have if you cannot master latte art just yet. Not everyone entering into the barista career path knows how to draw a picture of their dog in the foam. Latte art is fun and of course an extra bonus “know how” if you are working at a coffee shop, but will your barista life be ruined if you can’t make a perfect leaf yet? No.

Don’t worry too much about the latte art during the busy morning rush your café might have. For baristas that are not used to it, latte art can take some time. Practice mastering your skills when your café is slow; coworkers, friends, and family are great guinea pigs to practice your art! I have also ran into many helpful videos and websites showing easy ways to nail latte art. Click the link below to view the best and easiest one I found!
